Dhoni Waterfalls (43 km) — The trail to Dhoni waterfalls is ideal for adrenaline junkies eager for a thrilling trek into the heart of God’s own country. Enjoy the three-hour hike to the falls through the lush green forest.

Mangalam Dam (54 km) — Built across the Cherukunnath River, it is one of the district’s jewels. The dense canopy and a wide variety of floral and faunal species make it a must-see in these parts. Take a boat trip or locate a comfortable spot to rest and relax.

Palakkad Fort (33 km) — Tipu’s Fort, popularly known as Palakkad Fort, is a magnificently preserved building in the Palakkad district that was formerly an important military base. It is one of the most well-preserved forts in South India.

Malampuzha Dam (50 km) — The longest dam in the state, it has the only rock-cut garden in South India. Also, visit the zoo nearby. The massive Malampuzha Yakshi (female vampire) was built in 1969 by Kanayi Kunhiraman, a highly regarded sculptor.

Silent Valley National Park (64 km) — Silent Valley, also called Sairandhrivanam, constitutes the centrepiece of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, and was christened a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2012. From tigers, leopards, elephants, snakes, lion-tailed macaques, and Malabar giant squirrels to moths, bugs and toads, the diversity in fauna is breathtaking.

Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary (111 km) — The animal sanctuary, which covers roughly 640 square kilometres, is well-known for its Wild Tiger Reserve. Wildlife enthusiasts and adrenaline seekers will enjoy spending a day among the sanctuary’s plethora of flora and animals.
